WOW!!!! What a fantastic opening weekend! Saturday’s grand opening featuring the female cast of NUNSENSE was completely sold out! We still managed to squeeze in an additional 29 guests! The doors opened at 1 p.m.  for guests to enjoy the chocolate dessert creations of Chef Chuck – chocolate chip scones drizzled in dark chocolate, rich dark chocolate brownies with peanut butter chips, chocolate dipped strawberries, and dark chocolate dipped cannolis! The guests visited with each other and the nuns as they sampled their treats.

As the performance was ready to begin, our audience was treated to a preview of our upcoming  summer Shakespeare production A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM. We also had a brief talk with the director, Dawn Doherty, and producer, Aurora Long. They talked about OTE’s history and the choice to present NUNSENSE.

NUNSENSE delighted our audience! The actors were greeted with laughter and applause at every turn. The songs were a delight to the ear and the dancing was perfection! Our gracious audience jumped to their feet in a standing ovation!

The opening performance for the male cast, Saturday night, was a smash as well! We had many audience members from the afternoon performance return to see how the male cast could pull off such a show. They were thrilled to watch these brilliant actors become a group of nuns. It’s an absolute pleasure to watch BOTH casts take on this phenomenal show.
