Kaleigh Krieger plays “Milky White” in OTE’s Into the Woods.

How is this character like you?
Well, it’s a cow so there are not too many physical similarities. But, I get to awkwardly be in the background watching the action during many scenes. Like Milky White, I like people watching, too. You can learn a lot about people by watching them — especially when they don’t know you are watching.

Well, I’m not a cow.

What do you love about this character?
Spoiler…I get to come back to life. I’ve already played characters that have died and this time I get to come back to life. I love that I get to be on stage in character, as a cow.

What do you hate about this character?
I don’t get to MOOO enough.

What’s the biggest challenge about taking on this role?
It’s getting the physical characteristics of a old sick cow.

Besides yourself, what celebrity would you like to see tackle this character?
Jimmy Fallon or Rebel Wilson

Without giving anything away, what’s your favorite line of dialogue?
Look, Milky-White. It’s the butcher.

If you could play any other character in this show, who would it be?
Little Red or the Witch

Besides this one, what’s your favorite stage show?
Right now its Thoroughly Modern Millie or Shrek, the Musical

What’s your perfect Sunday afternoon look like?
Relaxing at home and doing absolutely nothing with my Mama

What do you do when you’re not doing theatre?
I pretty much eat, breathe, and sleep theater. And, I am finishing up my last semester of high school because my mom would kill me if I didn’t.

What’s the last thing you do before you step out on stage?
Say all of my lines in my head and go over my blocking.

Kaleigh Krieger – Kaleigh first graced the stage at age 7 finding her passion for musical theater. Since then she has had the opportunity to play many different types of roles. Some of her favorite roles include Simon Zealot in Jesus Christ Superstar, Lily St. Regis in Annie, and Kim MacAfee in Bye Bye Birdie. You can also find her offstage doing lighting design, choreographing, and stage managing.  Desiring to share her love of theater with young students, Kaleigh is a Youth Ambassador for Musical Theater West where she is currently working with elementary students in the production of Willy Wonka, Jr. After graduating from SOCSA in June, Kaleigh will be taking a “gap year” heading to Europe pursing a light/sound internship. It’s been an amazing musical theater journey going “Into the Woods” with such a talented group of actors and production team.
