Describe the characters you play.
I play Doris the sprightly tour guide and Maloof the aloof lawyer. These two ladies are polar opposites which presents a fun opportunity to flex my range. ‘Gotta love a challenge.
What similarities do you share with your characters?
Definitely Doris, oh Doris! I have spent a fair share of time giving tours and cracking puns. I can’t say I didn’t have a blast going full throttle with this character. Not to mention Maloof, detached yet refined… and drinking before noon.
How are you different from your characters?
I have a dash more self-awareness than Doris and a pinch more bed-side manner than Maloof. But not much of course…
What professional actor do you admire and why?
Living or dead? There are so many incredibly talented folks to choose from. I think I’d have to go with an actor (and revolutionary) of the past and say the talented Jim Henson. He paved the way for voice actors and dreamers to do what they love.
If acting is not your day job, what is?
I am a show runner, performer and co-creator of PACIFIC PALS LIVE – an interactive, educational puppet show with a focus on exploration and ocean literacy at the Aquarium of the Pacific.
Describe your perfect Sunday afternoon.
Anything that involves being in the company of animals. Visiting the petting zoo, playing fetch with my dog, feeding duckies, snuggling my cat, snuggling someone else’s cat, the possibilities are endless.
Call out someone who MUST see your show!
Ryan Gosling, I know I haven’t returned your phone calls. But if you come to the show tonight, we can talk it out.
Sarah Berman is an innovative, bubbly, show runner with a consistent history of creating scripted content for theme parks and special events.
