Chris Hunter plays the roles of John Maloof and Rickey in EARBUD THEATER: ESCAPE!

What do you love about the characters you play?
Both characters are fun to play! I think what I love most about them is that they are entirely on the opposite end of the spectrum from each other. One is a successful lawyer in his 40’s and the other is vague pre-teen sidekick.

Without giving anything away, what’s your favorite line of dialogue?
“Why, did you make it?” – Garland. I Love a good dad joke!

What’s challenging about bringing this script to life?
I am not used to bringing a character to life with just my voice. That is certainly a fun challenge for me to face but voice acting is something I’ve always wanted to try, so I am excited to see how this goes.

What’s going to surprise people about this show?
I don’t think people will realize how real this show will get.

If you had a magic wand, what should would you do next?
I would love to be in Beauty and the Beast. As for which role, I am torn between Lumiere, The Beast and Gaston. They all would be so much fun to play!

What’s the last thing you do before you step out on stage?
Breath. It’s absolutely essential!

Call someone out by name: who must come see this production?
Every show I call out the same person and this is no different. Caitlin Schafer! Seeing her in the audience always puts a smile on my face.

Chris Hunter is an alumni with On the Edge productions. Previously he has appeared in “Twelfth Night” as Sebastian and in “Into the Woods” as  Cinderella’s Prince and the Big Bad Wolf. He is very excited to debut in his very first audio play and looks forward to many more shows with OTE.
