We are overjoyed to have the multi-talented Kaleigh Krieger join us as Stage Manager for this year’s SHAKESPEARE IN THE HILLS’ The Comedy of Errors opening August 3rd at the Laguna Hills Community Center.
What sort of person is going to love this show? Anyone who enjoys amusing characters and comedy.
What’s challenging about bringing this script to life? Overcoming the old English language and making it relatable to current life
Why did you want to be involved in SHAKESPEARE IN THE HILLS? It’s always such an amazing experience to work with Aurora and her production team! I have enjoyed watching SHAKESPEARE IN THE HILLS previously and I’m excited that my schedule allows me the opportunity to support these great actors.
Call someone out by name: who must come see this production? Lisa and Jarrod Davis
What do you want to be when you grow up? Do I have to grow up? But, if I have to…then I want to own a theater and create an opportunity where young creative directors and production staff are given an opportunity to showcase their work and gain experience. Additionally, it would be a place where all ages work together to produce quality work and learn together.
If someone was going to make your life into a movie, who would play you? Reese Witherspoon
When did you first perform? Hmmm…according to my mom, it was singing in my Preschool Thanksgiving Play. But, the first time I went through a live audition process was when I was 8 for The Sound of Music.
Who do you look up to (as an actor/director/etc.)? Aurora Long and Dawn Doherty
What’s your perfect Sunday afternoon look like? Sleeping in, chocolate chip pancakes, hanging out with friends, beach, and a show.
When you have a five-minute break during rehearsal, what do you spend that time doing? Peeing, water, peeing, water
What do you do when you’re not doing theatre? Some aspect of theater is almost always on my mind but if it’s not, then school.
If you had a magic wand, what show would you do next? Something high energy that I can do with friends.
BIO: Kaleigh Krieger – Stage Manager
Kaleigh is a graduate of SOCSA and is currently studying Modern Business Management at the University of Economics in Krakow, Poland. She has had the privilege to work on and off stage for over 10 years with many talented actors and directors gaining experience in her craft and an understanding of the theatrical artistic process. This past summer she was delighted to choreograph and light design for Jesus Christ Superstar along with reprise her role as “Simon Zealot.” Her passion for theater arts has fueled her desire to open her own theater company giving children and adults an opportunity to perform in a fun educational place. When not hitting the books, Kaleigh teaches a high school theater class and tutors elementary students in English.
“You’ve got to be original, because if you’re like someone else, what do they need you for?” — Bernadette Peters
This summer, join SHAKESPEARE IN THE HILLS for Shakespeare’s zany comedy of adventure, mayhem, and mistaken identity! The Comedy of Errors tells the tale of two sets of twins split apart by a tragic shipwreck at a young age. Years later, unbeknownst to them, they have all ended up in the same town, unaware that they are being mistaken for each other.
With vaudeville performance, slapstick humor, immersive staging, and Shakespeare’s comedic writing, this production for all ages is not to be missed!
Bring a blanket or your lawn chair, bring your meal and make it a picnic event for SHAKESPEARE IN THE HILLS‘ outdoor performance presented by On The Edge Theatre Productions. All performances are held at the Laguna Hills Community Center & Sports Complex’s Gazebo and Town Green.
