This is Marie Duggan’s debut with SHAKESPEARE IN THE HILLS. She plays The Magician, Dr. Pinch, Sailor, and Third Officer in The Comedy of Errors opening August 3 at the Laguna Hills Community Center.

Why did you want to be involved in SHAKESPEARE IN THE HILLS? Four words: Shakespeare. In. The. Hills.

How is this production bringing something new to this story? On The Edge Theatre Productions has brought together a unique cast for their amazingly entertaining vaudeville show-within-a-show spin on this much-loved story. This is going to be the must-see community summer event for the entire family!

Call someone out by name: who must come see this production? Jordan! Bring a picnic basket, blanket, and the Missus! It will be too much fun!

What do you love about this character? Everything. Both the Magician and Dr. Pinch are ridiculous. And I love it.

What’s the biggest challenge about taking on this role? I actually have to learn magic! I’m a “real” magician, guys!

Besides yourself, what celebrity would you like to see tackle this character? Benedict Cumberbatch. Always Benedict Cumberbatch.

If someone was going to make your life into a movie, who would play you? Judi Dench.

When did you first perform? This is my first performance!

What’s your perfect Sunday afternoon look like? Sofa life: yoga pants, a good book, and a cup of tea that stays the perfect amount of hot until it’s done.

Who’s the funniest person in the cast in real life? I want to be Shelly when I grow up.

If you had a magic wand, what show would you do next? Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus

What’s the last thing you do before you step out on stage / the curtain goes up? Take a deep breath!

ACTOR’S BIO: Marie Duggan – “The Magician”, “Dr. Pinch”, “Sailor”, “Third Officer”

Marie Duggan is delighted to join the cast of On the Edge Theatre Production’s The Comedy of Errors for her first production. She is very excited to play the characters of The Magician, Dr. Pinch, Sailor, and Third Officer. When she is not reading Shakespeare or adventuring with her husband and their two dogs Archimedes and Valkyrie, she enjoys crunching numbers by day and baking cookies by night.

SHOW INFORMATION:

This summer, join SHAKESPEARE IN THE HILLS for Shakespeare’s zany comedy of adventure, mayhem, and mistaken identity! The Comedy of Errors tells the tale of two sets of twins split apart by a tragic shipwreck at a young age.
